Hey everyone, I’m in the market for a new log trailer and wanted to see what brands and models are standing out in 2025. Durability, load capacity, and ease of maintenance are my top priorities, but I’m also curious about any new features or technology that improve efficiency. Are there specific brands that have proven to hold up well under heavy use? Also, is there a big difference between aluminum and steel log trailers when it comes to performance? Looking forward to hearing your recommendations and experiences!

Great question, Beverly! I’ve had solid luck with Pitts and Serco trailers, they’re tough and built for serious loads. If you're hauling long distances, aluminum trailers help with weight and fuel efficiency, but steel ones definitely hold up better if you’re constantly on rough terrain.

Good picks, Ernie! I’ve been seeing more people lean toward hybrid setups too with steel frame with aluminum bunks, for a good balance of strength and weight savings. Some of the newer models also have built-in load scale systems and better corrosion protection, which is super handy long-term. Anyone tried those out yet? Curious if the tech really holds up in rough logging conditions.

Solid takes here! Pitts, Serco, and even Peerless are still leading the pack in 2025 for durability and payload. If you’re working steep or rough sites, steel’s the beast, but aluminum or hybrids really help on long hauls where every pound matters. And yeah, those integrated scale systems and rust-proof coatings are legit upgrades—fewer surprises at the mill and less time under the trailer with a wire brush.

Really appreciate all the insights! those hybrid setups sound like the sweet spot! Has anyone noticed if the onboard scale systems stay accurate after a season of rough use?
