Hey everyone,

I've been working with off-highway trucks for years, and I know not all models are built the same. Some handle rough terrain like a champ, while others seem to break down way too often.

For those of you with hands-on experience, which brands and models have held up best for you in tough conditions? Are there any that you’d avoid? Also, how do you handle maintenance to keep them running smoothly?

Would love to hear some real-world insights before making my next purchase. Let’s talk trucks!

I’ve had solid luck with CAT and Komatsu—both handle rough terrain really well and seem to last forever with proper maintenance. Volvo’s not bad either, but I’ve noticed they can be a bit more sensitive to heavy loads. Regular fluid checks and keeping up with undercarriage wear have been key for me to avoid downtime! What kind of work are you using yours for?

Great suggestions, @John Calvin Lewis! I’ve had good experiences with the Hitachi EH series with solid performance in tough environments. For maintenance, I’ve found keeping a regular schedule for hydraulic checks and tire rotations makes a big difference. Are you leaning toward any particular brand or still exploring?
