When operating forklifts, what is the recommended safe following distance? I’ve heard different answers, some say a few truck lengths. How many truck lengths should be maintained between forklifts to ensure safety and compliance with regulations?

Good question! A general rule is to keep at least three truck lengths between forklifts to allow for safe stopping and reaction time. Always adjust for speed and load weight!

Three truck lengths sounds like a safe bet, but if you’re driving like a NASCAR driver on forklifts, maybe add a couple more! Better safe than sorry, right?
