Where Do You See Heavy Equipment & Trucking by 2035? Electric, Autonomous, Hydrogen or Same Old Diesel?

Hey guys,

Where do you all see heavy equipment and trucking headed?

Will we be mostly electric, fully autonomous, running on hydrogen, or still clinging to diesel?

Curious what everyone thinks about how fast or slow these changes might actually roll out on real job sites.

Great question honestly, I see a weird mix by 2035 about some fancy electric & hydrogen rigs on big projects, a few robo-trucks, but plenty of old diesel still chugging along on smaller jobs. Change happens, but the industry slow to ditch what works (even if it smokes a bit 😅). Curious to see what others think!

Glad I've gotten mostly out of the biz at this point... Probably a lot of change coming in the next decade that an old fella like myself will be too slow to adapt to. But who knows, I managed to make it long enough to be posting on forums about heavy equipment.

The industry is slow to adapt and I think the high cost of our machines and fleets will prevent it from flipping too quickly to electric or hydrogen. But it might be drip, drip drip, and then the whole dam breaks open.
