who should inspect a crane?

Awesome!

Daily operator checks are non-negotiable, but having a certified inspector take a deeper look definitely helps catch hidden issues before they become major problems.

@Marlouie Rosato, good question about scheduling third-party inspections. At our site, we do them proactively every six months, and they’ve caught a few things we might have missed. Has anyone here switched up their inspection schedule and noticed a difference in safety or maintenance costs?

Totally agree with the mix of daily checks and certified inspections, it saved us big time once when a third-party caught a cracked weld we would’ve never spotted. Anyone here doing drone inspections for cranes yet?

Been working with cranes for years, and I can say daily operator checks are non-negotiable, they catch a lot of small stuff early. But for the deeper issues, certified third-party inspections are a must, especially for heavily used or older equipment. We usually schedule them quarterly, but if a crane’s seeing nonstop action, we might bump that up. Anyone else adjust their inspection frequency based on workload or environment?

we do third-party inspections twice a year and ita caught stuff we totally miss otherwise. .Honestly a small investment for a huge peace of mind. Anyone else ramp up inspections during busy seasons?

daily checks are a no-brainer, but having a certified inspector step in regularly has saved our crew more than once.. its totally worth it

I'm with you all-daily checks are essential, but having a certified third-party inspector gives you that extra layer of security. Curious though, for those who do bring in outside inspectors, do you also have them review the crane's maintenance logs, or is it strictly a physical inspection?
